Jono started playing bike polo in May 2009 when his housemate (Ali) explained he “had to give it a try”.
After building a brakeless polo bike, Jono trundled off to Mitch and t-boned every player in sight (before being told this was particularly bad form).
He then practiced hard with Ali and eventually started a team with Ali and Ray for the London League 2009 called the ELKs. The ELKs disbanded in 2010 and Jono briefly joined the Rotten Apples before joining Spring Break for the London League 2010.
Jono was the chairman of the London Hardcourt Bike Polo Association in 2011/2012 and was the organiser of the annual London Open bike polo tournament. Jono’s polo ambitions are to win the Euros, win the Worlds and to maintain London’s position as having the largest bike polo scene in the world!
