Adam started playing polo after his housemate Charco suggested it might be a laugh. He made some mallets (well, Charco made them) and subsequently broke them forty minutes later. Back to the drawing board with further testing down in peckham car park. Adam met many other polo players at the halloween tourney in 2009. This was the first time he truly experienced London polo… there was no going back!
Adam built his first polo bike during the later half of 2009 and his Archie Wilinson was ready to ride once the snow cleared at the end of January 2010. Adam rode fixed-gear for the first six months (which was a painful process of crashing and improving) and he was hooked!
Adam’s first tourney was the “Lille Throw-In” in June. He saw lots of players who had moved to freewheel out-pacing the competition and thought he’d give it a try. He joined the freewheel revolution and started using his second bike: the pompino! Adam also became hooked on polo tournaments and longed for his next European polo adventure, one big polo family.
Adam got a chance to play with Aidan & James at the Berlin Worlds as DAS polo. They qualified for the Worlds (via the wildcard) and had a giggle competing with the best polo teams from around the globe… great times were had and some valuable tourney experience was gained.
Along came Ryan & Jono in late 2010 with their affection for guiness & going fast, Spring break was born!
